Data Trading, Pricing & AI : What’s at Stake ? Highlights from ExtremeXP at Data Week 2025

From May 27 to 31, 2025, the city of Athens, Greece became a key meeting point for the European data and AI community during Data Week 2025 the flagship event of the Big Data Value Association (BDVA) and a cornerstone of Europe’s data innovation landscape.

The ExtremeXP project was proudly represented by Yiannis Verginadis at one of the standout sessions of Data Week 2025 : “EUDATA+: Solutions for Data Trading and Pricing”

So what’s behind this promising title? And why does it matter for the future of AI and Data Spaces?

Why is this session important ?

Because data is now one of the most valuable economic assets.

As AI evolves and Data Spaces become the new standard for sharing and managing information, we face critical questions:

🔹How do we assign value to data ?
🔹What pricing models are fair and effective ?
🔹How can we ensure trusted and transparent data exchanges ?

This session brought together leading voices from industry, research, and policy to explore technological solutions and business strategies for enabling data commercialisation and building a Single Digital Market through Data Spaces.

WHAT WAS THE CONTRIBUTION

What was ExtremeXP’s contribution ?

Yiannis Verginadis shared cutting-edge insights from ExtremeXP’s work on AI experimentation orchestration, focusing on how data value chains can benefit from AI-driven experimentation, the use of NFT-based data provenance to ensure traceability and trust in AI processes, and the role of Data Spaces in enabling secure, scalable, and innovative data monetisation models.

Why should industry leaders and researchers care ?

Because this session offered a deep dive into Data Trading & Pricing methods, ready-to-use tools and frameworks for real-world implementation, proven use cases that bridge the gap between research and business, a chance to connect with experts, decision-makers, and innovators shaping the future of data.

What’s next for ExtremeXP ?

We’re continuing to explore new business and technical models for the data economy, push the boundaries of AI-powered experimentation with trust and transparency at its core, foster collaboration across research, industry, and policy to build impactful data ecosystems.
