Inside ExtremeXP at SADIS 2025 : George Papastefanatos Takes the Stage
On September 16, 2025, the ExtremeXP project actively participated in the First International Workshop on Software Architecture for Data-Intensive Systems (SADIS 2025), held in Limassol, Cyprus, as part of ECSA 2025.
Opening keynote
The workshop opened with a keynote delivered by George Papastefanatos, who represented ExtremeXP with the talk :
From Data to Insights: Efficient Human-in-the-Loop Methods for Mastering Complex Data-Intensive Pipelines
This keynote highlighted ExtremeXP’s contributions to scalable visual analytics, emphasizing the importance of combining automation with human expertise to handle the challenges of data-intensive pipelines.

Community insights
- Beyond the keynote, SADIS 2025 featured a rich program covering :
- Architectures for AutoML pipelines
- Scalable validation of data quality
- FAIR data models for data cooperatives
- Counterfactual explainability (GLOVES 2.0)
- Healthcare data readiness
- Harmonization of temporal logs
Each presentation brought new perspectives to the design of software architectures for data-intensive systems, reinforcing the relevance of ExtremeXP’s research.
For ExtremeXP, SADIS 2025 was more than a conference stop : it was a platform to share results, connect with researchers and practitioners, and strengthen
the project’s role in shaping the future of data-intensive software architectures.
We warmly thank the organizers for curating such an inspiring event.
